CAA wants to provide informative ideas and new strategies, not just for students and parents, but also for coaches and their assistants. Our current topic is, “What is Proactive Coaching? “
Bruce Brown is the founder of Proactive Coaching and the author of booklets, books, and presentations. He has spent 35 years as a teacher, coach, athletic administrator at the junior high, high school, junior college, and collegiate level, coaching football, basketball, baseball, and volleyball. Bruce is a former national presenter for the NAIA’s Lions of Character Program
Bruce leads an impressive team of speakers who travel the country speaking to athletes, coaches, parents, school districts and corporations. For September, the featured speakers are Lori Thomas and Rob Miller. On July 1, 2014, Lori became the first female, Conference Commissioner in the history of NAIA. Lori was inducted into both the National Junior College Athletics Association Hall of Fame and Johnson County Community College Hall of Fame for the sport of volleyball (While at JCCC, Lori played volleyball and basketball and was named a Junior College All-American in volleyball in 1988). She was inducted into Idaho State University’s Hall of Fame the next year for volleyball and basketball and is a member of the Board of Directors for the United States – International University Sports Federation. She has coached both at the collegiate level and is currently championing junior development by coaching in an Elementary School. Rob, combines his speaking talent and “coaching” knowledge to promote the “Proactive Coaching” mission to help coaches make a positive impact on their athlete’s lives. While not everyone can take advantage of their individual or group, up close and personal workshops and retreats, we can impart the main pillar of his program.
Proactive Coaching is a philosophy for coaches and teams to help intentionally create character-based team cultures on purpose, develop a roadmap for team leadership, evolve confident, tough-minded, fearless competitors, by training their coaches for excellence and significance. They have books, eBooks, booklets, DVD’s, and streaming video on a variety of topics to help coaches, athletes, and parents better navigate the world of recreational and competitive athletics.
Proactive Coaching is one of the greatest resources you will find when it comes to coaching, team-building, athletics, and leadership. You can become a member or get a team membership for your school to be able to access the inner portal of the website.
