On March 6, 2021 Prescott’s Trinity Christian girls basketball team defeated Ridgeline Academy 57-40 and celebrated as CAA’s D1 HS State Basketball Champions! CAA was pleased to honor the Warriors with not one, but two awards.
Coach of the Year
Alicia Anderson has been the head Girls Varsity Coach at Trinity Christian School since 2014. She led the Warriors to victory, ending their 2021 basketball season 16-2 and winning the CAA Division 1 Championship game. Alicia pursued a career in coaching as an avenue to give back to the community and be able to mentor young athletes. She believes team sports are one of the best ways to learn valuable skills in life. She also takes joy in being married for 20 years to her college sweetheart, Al, who shares her vision and also coaches at TCS. Alicia is also a part-time grant preparer/bookkeeper and loves her greatest opportunity: being a mother and raising their two girls.
Player of the Year
Micaela Van Patten is a senior at Trinity Christian School and was thrilled to receive the award for Player of the Year. “Basketball is my passion and the direction I want in life. I would love to become an Athletic Director and a Coach someday,” she said. Michaela grew up on a farm in Prescott, AZ and when she is not playing basketball, she loves spending time with her family. After graduation she will be attending college at Arizona Christian University in Phoenix to play basketball and major in Business Administration.
Micaela we wish you the best of luck on all your future endeavors. You will always be a member of the CAA family!
